Lakha Mandal Temple Dehradun Uttarakhand

The Lakhamandal Temple is situated around 76 kms from Dehradun and was resurrected in the 8th century and has a great mythological importance. It is believed that the cruel son of Dritarashtra conspired to burn the Pandavas alive in the Jatugriha. But luckily they were saved by power Shakti and hence a Shakti temple has been constructed in respect of Lord Shiva and Goddess Parvati. Also a peaceful Yamuna river flows along the Lakha Mandal temple and gives it a devine and holy atmosphere.

Behind the main temple is a shining shivling , if you pour water on it-, it becomes shiny and you can see yourself in it..

Quotes of Mother Teresa

"There is only one God and He is God to all; therefore it is important that everyone is seen as equal before God. I’ve always said we should help a Hindu become a better Hindu, a Muslim become a better Muslim, a Catholic become a better Catholic. We believe our work should be our example to people. We have among us 475 souls - 30 families are Catholics and the rest are all Hindus, Muslims, Sikhs—all different religions. But they all come to our prayers."

"Keep the joy of loving God in your heart and share this joy with all you meet especially your family. Be holy – let us pray."

"Before you speak, it is necessary for you to listen, for God speaks in the silence of the heart"

"Give yourself fully to God. He will use you to accomplish great things on the condition that you believe much more in His love than in your own weakness."

Swami Vivekananda in his essay, The Future of India:

Swami Vivekananda in his essay, The Future of India

"It is the same India which has withstood the shocks of centuries, of hundreds of foreign invasions, of hundreds of upheavals of manners and customs. It is the same land, which stands firmer than any rock in the world, with its undying vigour, indestructible life. Its life is of the same nature as the soul, without beginning and without end, immortal; and we are the children of such a country."

Tapkeshwar Temple - Dehradun

Tapkeshwar temple is one of the main abode of lord Shiva and is situated in beautiful valley of Dehradun. This temple is situated near a river in the Garhi Cantt region of Dehradun. Devotees can get a glimpse of lord Shiva in the form of Shivlinga in the cave present in the temple. A drop of water always drips on this Shivalinga from rocks at the place where this Shivalinga is placed. This place is known as Tapkeshwar because of this miracle.

Tapkeshwar Temple Story

This land is the abode of lord Mahadev and hence is a significant place for devotees and pilgrims. The temple is situated on this sacred land and due to its traditional form, it has won many hearts. There are many mythological stories associated with this Shivlinga. According to these, it is the land of worship of Guru Dronacharya. There are many tales which tell us that the Shivlinga present here was established by Guru Dronacharya.
It is believed that when Guru Dronacharya came to this place during his journey of India, he met a sage and he expressed his thoughts to the sage after greeting him. The sage then promised him that all his wishes will be granted. Dronchacharya expressed his wish to get a glimpse of lord Shiva. At this, the sage suggested him to go towards Rishikesh.
He told him that he will be able to get a glimpse of the Shivlinga at the bank of a river near this place. As told by the sage, Dronacharya went to that cave from Rishikesh and immersed himself in the meditation of lord Shiva. Pleased by the devotion of Guru Drone, lord Shiva told him to ask for a boon. Dronacharya then asked for the knowledge of archery and lord Shiva granted him his wish. He also blessed a son to his wife Kripi.
A son of Dronacharya took birth due to the blessings of the lord and he named him Ashvatthama. But the mother Kripi was not able to feed the child. Guru Drona went to king Drupada to get a cow to fetch the milk for the infant. But, king Drupada denied him to give the cow. Dejected Guru Drona, when came to the child, tried to console him and told him that all the cows were with lord Shiva and he would get the milk by his blessings.
The child then decided to worship lord Shiva with utter determination. Lord Shiva was pleased at the worship of the child. He disguised himself and appeared in front of the child. He tried to know the wish of the child. The child told his wish to lord Shiva in disguise but after listening to the child lord Shiva disappeared. The child started crying at this and few drops of his tears fell on Shivlinga because of which the Shivalinga was coronated. Lord Shiva melted at this.
It is because of his blessings, a stream of milk started flowing every month on Poornima. This stream offered milk to the Shivlinga first and then the child got the milk. Since then, this Shivlinga is known as Dughdeshwar Mahadev. But in the course of time, a stream of water started flowing from a rock at this place. Since drops of water continually drip here, this place is currently known as Tapkeshwar Mahadev . Devotees in large numbers come to this sacred place on the occasion of Shivratri to get a glimpse of lord Shiva and they offer water to the Shivlinga.

Tapkeshwar Temple Importance

Tapkeshwar temple is an ancient temple which is of great mythological importance. The Shivlinga present here which is said to have appeared on its own, is popularly known as Tapkeshawar Mahadev. Shree Kastbhanjan Dev Hanuman ji Mandir Sarangpur

Hanuman ji Maharaj at Sarangpur, is famed around the world for expelling spirits and Ghosts from people plagued with such problems. This was due to the blessing of Gopalanand Swami to Vagha Khachar, who invoked Hanumanji with his wand, to be ever present in the idol to drive out such evils. The kind Swami helped Vagha Khachar with such blessing as he readily served saints and devotees offering them hospitality. As a result his income had dwindled. Swami therefore decided to help him by installing the idol of Hanuman, which provided a strong source of income, which facilitated him to continue to render service to saints and devotees. Later on he dedicated the income permanently to the temple at Gadhpur. This service continues today as hundreds comes to Sarangpur at the feet of Hanumanji Maharaj to be rid of such problems.

Shri Hanuman Mandir, Sarangpur is a Hindu temple located in Sarangpur, Gujarat and comes under the Vadtal Gadi of the Swaminarayan Sampraday. It is dedicated to Hanuman in the form of Kastbhanjan (Crusher of sorrows). It is the only Swaminarayan temple to have Hanuman as a central deity. In other temples, the central deity is a human form with the shrine of Hanuman along with that of Ganpati at the entrance of the temple.

History:
This temple is among the more prominent ones in the Swaminarayan Sampraday. The image of Hanuman was installed by Gopalanand Swami. According to author Raymond Williams, it is reported that when Gopalanand Swami installed the image of Hanuman, he touched it with a rod and the image came alive and moved. This story has become a charter for the healing ritual performed at this temple. The image of Hanuman here is a stout figure with a handlebar moustache, crushing a female demon under his foot and baring his teeth, standing among sculpted foliage full of fruit bearing monkey attendants.

Hanuman was born to 'Anjana', a female vanara. Anjana was actually an apsara or a celestial being, named 'Punjikasthala', who, due to a curse, was born on the earth as a female vanara. The curse was to be removed upon her giving birth to an incarnation of Lord Shiva.Along with Kesari, Anjana performed intense prayers to Shiva to beget Him as her Child. Pleased with their devotion, Shiva granted them the boon they sought.
